Mailing preference service
The Mailing Preference Service (MPS) is a free to join register, run by the direct marketing industry, which gives consumers the choice of mail they wish to receive. Whilst a lot of persons are happy to receive offers and discounts through the post, many do not want to receive unsolicited mail; the Mailing Preference Service can facilitate this.
MPS
Optimal direct mailing campaigns use consumer data which has been screened against the MPS. By not mailing persons registered on the Mailing Preference Service you will save money, time and resources, whilst also protecting your brand - an individual registered with the Mailing Preference Service, receiving uninvited mail, will have a negative view of the sender.
Mailing Preference Service screening can also protect businesses from fraud. Impersonation of the Deceased (IOD) is one of the fastest growing identity fraud types in the UK – fraudsters often intercept mail intended for the deceased to utilise personal details for fraud. Aside from the criminal implications, if relatives receive mail intended for a deceased loved one it can be very upsetting, and again damaging to your brand.
Under their code of practice all Direct Marketing Association (DMA) members have to screen mailing list data against the Mailing Preference Service list, if you are a data supplier and member of the DMA you are also required to Mailing Preference Service screen.
MPS screening
We are official Mailing Preference Service list cleaners and offer very flexible solutions. MPS screening can be employed as part of a full data cleansing project or on a stand alone basis.
